Efficient use of PV self-consumption
By combining with a photovoltaic system, the water heat pump pays off doubly: it increases the economically sensible self-consumption, and the hot water preparation is almost free of charge. Water heat pumps for combination with photovoltaics are identified by the designation as SmartGrid-capable or SG-ready.

Frequently asked questions about OCHSNER EUROPA
The EUROPA MINI is a standalone Warmwasser-Wärmepumpe – not a heating system. It prepares warm water based on the ambient air at the installation site and complements or replaces the warm water function of an existing heating system. In combination with the existing warm water storage tank, the operating time of the heating system is reduced to the actual heating period – saving energy and increasing its lifespan.
In pure heat pump operation, the EUROPA MINI reaches up to 60 °C – even at low indoor temperatures. This ensures hygienically flawless drinking water quality without a heating element. In case of a temporarily very high demand, a heating element can be activated.
Yes. Two or more units can be connected in combination with an external warm water storage tank – for residential buildings with multiple parties or commercial enterprises with high consumption, such as hair salons.
As a side effect, yes. Because the system extracts heat from the ambient air, it cools and dehumidifies the installation room – with the practical side benefit that laundry drying in the installation room is accelerated.
Depending on the model, two variants are available: The IWPL model is operated via Tiptronic light. The IWP model features Tiptronic plus S with a touch display and is additionally SG-ready for the use of PV self-consumption.
There are no approval requirements for the operation of a warm water heat pump. Subsidies may be possible as part of a heating renovation – details are provided by the OCHSNER funding information.
