WATER/WATER HEAT PUMP
OCHSNER AQUA FOX
Groundwater is the most efficient heat source available. Constantly between 8 and 12°C, regardless of weather or season. Due to this consistently high source temperature, the temperature level for heating purposes needs to be raised less compared to other heat sources. This enables the highest performance figures. Less energy expenditure, higher performance figures, lower operating costs.

Compact Tower S200 or Heat Pump Indoor Unit S1
The OCHSNER AQUA FOX is available in two versions. As a compact tower S200, it combines heat pump and hot water storage in less than 0.5 m² of floor space. The even more compact indoor unit S1 without its own hot water storage is available for external hot water preparation or storage.

Minimal Noise Emission
The low sound power level of 32–38 dB(A) according to the ErP label allows installation in hallway areas, utility rooms, or ancillary rooms.

Multi-stage Performance Adjustment
AQUA FOX operates with inverter technology and adjusts to the current heat demand. An additional heating buffer storage is not required. This saves money, time, and space.

Heating, Hot Water, and Cooling
The AQUA FOX models can also be used for passive cooling with optional additional equipment.

Official Approval
The use of groundwater as a heat source for the heat pump must be approved by the respective water rights authority. The well builder, drilling company, or your OCHSNER system partner can assist with the application to the authority. To utilize the heat source groundwater, several conditions must be met: sufficient water quantity, water quality (analysis), water rights approval, and supply and drainage wells.
Frequently Asked Questions about OCHSNER AQUA FOX
Groundwater maintains a constant temperature of 8 to 12 °C year-round – regardless of outside temperature or season. This small temperature difference to the desired heating temperature significantly reduces the energy consumption of the heat pump. The AQUA FOX thus achieves SCOPs of 5.6 to 5.8 – top values compared to all other heat sources.
Four conditions are necessary for using groundwater as a heat source: sufficient water quantity, a water quality analysis, a water law permit from the responsible authority, and the installation of extraction and injection wells. The well builder, drilling company, or OCHSNER system partner supports the permit application.
To utilize groundwater, a system separation between the groundwater and heating circuit is required. An intermediate heat exchanger – available as OCHSNER accessories – takes care of this separation and protects the heat pump from mineral deposits or contaminants from the groundwater.
The AQUA FOX is available in three models: 208 (2–11 kW), 312 (3–14 kW), and 416 (4–18 kW). For larger properties and commercial buildings with heating loads of 28 to 99 kW, OCHSNER offers the AQUA series 36, 54, and 97 with SCOPs of 5.5 to 6.3.
The AQUA FOX is available in two variants: As Tower S200, it combines heat pump and hot water storage in less than 0.5 m² of floor space. The Indoor Unit S1 comes without its own hot water storage and is suitable for systems with external hot water preparation or storage.
The sound power level is rated at 32 to 38 dB(A) according to the ErP label. This allows for installation in hallway areas, utility rooms, or ancillary rooms – directly in the residential building, without disturbing noise development.
No. The AQUA FOX operates with inverter technology and adjusts its output in multiple stages to the current heat demand. An additional heating buffer storage is not required.
Yes, with optional additional equipment, passive cooling is possible.
The control is done via the OCHSNER Tronic Fox (OTF), with operation optionally via the touch display of the heat pump or the OCHSNER Easy App. Integration into building management systems and smart home systems is possible via a Modbus interface. SG-Ready is integrated as standard.
OCHSNER AQUA: HIGHLY EFFICIENT FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE
For high performance requirements, OCHSNER offers the proven water/water heat pumps AQUA 36, AQUA 54, and AQUA 97. They operate with high-quality and durable scroll compressors and achieve high SCOPs of 5.5 to 6.3 at a flow temperature of 35°C. The series is suitable for larger properties and commercial buildings with heating loads from 28 to 99 kW, and through cascading, also for much higher heating loads.
