OCHSNER is SmartGrid ready
With the SmartGrid functionality, favorable tariffs for the operation of the heat pump can be utilized in the power grid of the future. SmartGrids serve as peak load balancing; SmartGrid capable heat pumps switch on when excess electricity is available at a low cost and store this energy in the form of warm water.
OCHSNER Smart Home
Through building management technology or the SmartGrid interface, OCHSNER can be integrated into smart home systems at any time. Control your heat pump also at your request via PC, tablet, or smartphone from home or anywhere in the world!
Silent Mode
In Silent Mode, the fan speed is reduced depending on the outdoor air temperature according to a fixed proportional function. This ensures that, for example, in summer during hot water preparation or pool heating, the already extremely low sound emission in normal operation is further reduced. This function is provided by OCHSNER in the AIR HAWK and AIR series as standard.
OCHSNER is ErP ready
All heat pumps and storage units from OCHSNER meet the mandatory energy labeling according to the Eco-Design Directive. The Energy Label informs you about the efficiency of new heat generators - with OCHSNER heat pumps, you achieve values that no other heating system offers.
COP: Reading the performance coefficient correctly
The COP determines the ratio of input electrical energy to the achieved heat yield.
A COP of 4.5 means, for example, that from one part of electrical energy, 4.5 parts of heat energy are generated. It is not an absolute value but is always mentioned in connection with the temperature of the heat source and the heating temperature – together referred to as the so-called operating point. Because with changes in the input and output temperatures, the performance coefficient naturally changes as well, since the compressor has to do different amounts of work. Therefore, in addition to the COP, temperature specifications are always found. The specification L0/W35 for the COP means, for example, that the specified COP value was measured at an air temperature of 0°C (L) and an output temperature of 35°C (W). The specification W10/W35 describes the heat source water (W) with a temperature of 10°C and an output temperature (W) of 35°C. For heat pumps with the heat source air, values must be specified at various outdoor temperatures, typically at -7°C, 2°C, and 7°C; alternatively, there is also the “Seasonal Coefficient of Performance” (SCOP), which already takes seasonal fluctuations into account, more on this in the article about air heat pumps. Since the heat sources ground and groundwater provide very consistent temperatures throughout the year, there are usually no different COP specifications here.
JAZ: The actual costs, calculated over the year
Another important value for the performance of a heat pump is the annual performance factor (JAZ).
It calculates the ratio of the annual heating work, i.e., the actual heat yield over a year in kilowatt-hours (kWh), to the total electricity consumption in a year, also stated in kWh. It significantly determines how high the actual energy costs will be at the end of the year. The JAZ cannot be stated in general terms, as it depends not only on the heat pump but also on the conditions in the house. The basis for calculating the JAZ is a heating load calculation for the building, which must then be calculated by a specialist company such as the OCHSNER system partners, taking into account the technical conditions in the house. Here, for example, the heating system, the building insulation, and the size of the building play an important role. The behavior of the users also influences the JAZ – those who ventilate uncontrollably in winter or heat the house more frequently to higher temperatures than planned must expect increased heating energy consumption, just like with any other technology.
Heating execution
With OCHSNER heat pump systems, you are certainly creating a future-proof heating system (with active cooling upon request) with a heat source that never runs dry and is always affordable. Well-being and quality of life are invaluable goods.
A heat pump heating system consists of a heat source (water, geothermal energy, or air), the heat pump, and the heat utilization system (e.g., underfloor heating).
All system components must be optimally coordinated to ensure flawless operation and high performance coefficients (annual performance factor). Therefore, OCHSNER plans the entire heat pump heating system for you. Our system partners are happy to advise you competently and set up your system professionally. OCHSNER offers you security and not empty promises.
Heating/Cooling execution
Every year, we are troubled by summer heat waves, and days with more than 30°C are becoming increasingly frequent.
The cooling demand in households is increasing, and according to EU studies, the cooling demand is rising faster than the heating demand. Air conditioning is already a matter of course in cars and many offices, and no one wants to miss this comfort.
Place the same demands on your home, as you spend a large part of your life there. OCHSNER heat pumps are available with the additional cooling function upon request, and this is available for every heat source.
