Every year we suffer in the summer heat waves, with the number of days hotter than 30°C rising all the time. In 2003, for example, there were over 49 such days by the end of August, and global warming will bring a further increase.

The need for cooling in homes is growing and, according to EU studies, the demand for cooling is growing more strongly than the demand for heating. Air-conditioning systems are already standard equipment in cars and in many offices, and no one would willingly forego this comfort.
