HEAT PUMPS

Nature

Nature - source of life.

Make yourself a role model

Ambient heat is indirect solar energy, stored in the air, water and ground. It is precisely these heat sources that the heat pump uses.

It is a proven fact that heat pump technology is one of the few that can contribute significantly to maintaining the global climatic equilibrium. Your children will be grateful to you!

Our environment is under threat

Over millions of years the forests and plants of our planet have produced oxygen, the oxygen that we are now breathing. They were swallowed up by the young earth and turned into coal, oil and natural gas.

It is precisely these fossil fuels that humans are now burning which is using up the oxygen formed in the past and producing CO2. A further phenomenon is the enormous increase in the amount of methane gas in the atmosphere. There are several reasons for this. One is the global increase in the extraction and use of natural gas. The increasing concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane is amplifying the natural greenhouse effect and resulting in the threat to the climate: the consequences, according to the UN, are an expected average temperature increase of 1.5 to 4.5°C in the next 100 years. CO2 is also generated when biomass is burned. The regrowth of the wood can balance this out in part over the course of several decades.

This represents a damaging intervention in our climate system, frequent storms, hail and heavy rainfall plus arid zones and a rise in sea levels. Bear in mind, also, the environmental damage caused by the construction of pipelines or oil spillages in the event of tanker accidents.

Tracking down the offenders

When heating with fossil fuels, such as oil, gas or wood pellets, large volumes of sulphur dioxide, soot and other pollutants are emitted. These cause acid rain and forest blight and are a danger to our health. Every combustion process, including gas, also generates CO2. This contributes to the greenhouse effect and the threat of climate change. The average oil-fired heating system in a single family home emits approx. 6,000 kg CO2 per year, and a gas-fired system approx. 4,000 kg.

Heat pumps have zero emissions at the point of installation

That means absolutely free of CO2, soot and any toxic exhaust gases. Heat pumps turn solar energy into pollution-free heating energy. You can hang up your whites in the boiler room. You design your own environment for yourself. The garden contains no pollutants generated in the house. You can breathe in without concern. But your neighbours will also be grateful to you for your contribution to protecting the national and global environment. When viewed globally (including power generation), heat pumps perform excellently. They significantly reduce total CO2 emissions for all types of electricity production. And if you opt for (domestic) green electricity, you really will be heating and cooling with zero emissions. No other heating/cooling system can achieve this.

OCHSNER only uses ozone-neutral safety refrigerants in its appliances. With nature - and not against it.

Responsibility for the future

We do not want to burn up our children's future and destroy their environmental habitat. We bear responsibility today for the world of tomorrow. There will still be an urgent need for oil and gas in future. But in applications where they cannot be replaced. For example, in the manufacture of important drugs or plastics. They are much too valuable simply to burn.

Imports of gas and oil also form a debit item in our national balance of trade budget, whereas environmental energy represents a domestic credit.
