OCHSNER hot water heat pumps

DHW with added benefits

OCHSNER offers a broad range of heat pump solutions for DHW heating independently of the heating system. Hot water heat pumps use the air from ancillary rooms such as the basement, storeroom or laundry room. Thanks to the relatively constant temperatures in these areas, OCHSNER hot water heat pumps work highly efficiently, reliably providing water temperatures of up to 65°C. Depending on the model, OCHSNER appliances can also be used for room dehumidification and cooling. OCHSNER offers hot water heat pumps as compact appliances with integral DHW tanks, or as split appliances for external DHW tanks.

Product overview

288 - 379 Liter
OCHSNER EUROPA
The hot water heat pumps in the OCHSNER EUROPA series are compact solutions for DHW heating. With DHW temperatures of up to 65°C in heat pump-only mode, they ensure DHW hygiene and full protection against legionella even at low air temperatures. They also have a very small footprint thanks to the integral tank.
357 - 373 Liter
OCHSNER EUROPA MINI
The hot water heat pumps in the OCHSNER EUROPA series are standalone solutions for DHW heating. With flow temperatures of up to 65°C in heat pump-only mode, they ensure DHW hygiene and full protection against legionella even at low air temperatures. The DHW is stored in an external tank.

The central heating system is oversized for the sole function of heating DHW in the summer. OCHSNER hot water heat pumps can be adjusted precisely to the actual demand.

OCHSNER benefit no. 1:
Domestic hot water at an economy tariff

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps utilise waste heat and provide hot water highly efficiently and with low power consumption based on a thermodynamic process. OCHSNER technology therefore plays an important role in climate protection and reducing energy costs.

Energy saving and climate friendly

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps provide DHW in a particularly energy saving and climate friendly way.

OCHSNER benefit no. 2:
Cooling, dehumidification, utilisation of waste heat

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are suitable for installation in frost-free areas, such as boiler rooms or utility rooms, where waste heat accumulates from the heating system, washing machine, tumble dryer or refrigerators. Storerooms for food or wine can also be used. The hot water heat pump extracts both heat and humidity from the indoor air. Food keeps for longer and laundry dries more quickly in the cool, dry air.

Cooling of pantries, storage rooms and wine cellars

Type Europa 250 DK/DKL, 333 GENIUS, 300 L and Mini IWP/IWPL Installation in boiler room. DHW heating using indoor air. Additional benefits – cooling of pantries, storage rooms and wine cellars.

Laundry drying and softened water

Type 250 DK/DKL, 333 GENIUS, 300 L and Mini IWP/IWPL Installation in laundry room. DHW heating using indoor air. Additional benefits – laundry can be dried in the installation room; softened water for steam irons.

Mechanical ventilation and extraction of moist air

Type Europa 333 GENIUS / mechanical ventilation as an exhaust air system Installation in a hobby room with heating heat pump. Heat recovery from extract air for DHW heating Ancillary benefits of mechanical ventilation (hygienic 1 pipe system, air duct DN150 up to 20 m possible). Extraction of the stale, moist air from wet rooms (bathroom, WC, kitchen). Intake of fresh air through adjustable wall vents into the living space and/or stairwell.

OCHSNER benefit no. 3:
Easy installation, fast retrofitting

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are fully wired and therefore very easy to install. Depending on the building situation, customers can choose between models with integral DHW tank and split appliances which use an external tank. OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are also a worthwhile investment for replacing old electrically heated DHW tanks, thanks to their significantly lower energy consumption. OCHSNER hot water heat pumps can be combined with any other heating technology and are a very good alternative to solar thermal DHW heating. Unlike solar thermal systems, OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are not sunshine-dependent.

For new build and modernisation projects

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are suitable for both new builds and modernising heating systems, as well as retrofitting alongside existing heating systems.

OCHSNER benefit no. 4:
Anti-legionella mode included

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps ensure protection against germs in the DHW in heat pump-only mode. Even at low indoor air temperatures, the split appliances achieve legionella-proof DHW temperatures of 60°C and the compact appliances with integral DHW tank reach 65°C. OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are equipped with an integral electric immersion heater in case of very high DHW consumption for a short period, the occurrence of a fault, or use of only small amounts of self-generated PV power.

Perfectly hygienic water

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps ensure perfectly hygienic DHW quality.

Five questions about hot water heat pumps

Yes, the technology is standalone. If the DHW heating needs to be separated from an existing heating system, you only need to adjust the DHW connections accordingly. In many cases, you can continue to use the existing DHW tank.

OCHSNER hot water heat pumps are almost maintenance-free. A system check every few years is sufficient.
