Financing - Cost examples

Heat pumps are one of the most efficient heating systems. Although the initial investment costs may in some cases be higher than for other systems, the very low running cost means that the overall costs over the years are lower than for other systems. The payback time will vary according to the individual situation (existing building/new building, insulation, previous or alternatively considered heating system, etc.) In new buildings the heat pump will often begin to pay for itself straight away, and even in existing buildings it will take only a few years.

When the costs of a heat pump are compared with those of other heating systems, the comparison is often not complete. So while the costs of setting up the heat source system (collectors, probes, well) are included for heat pumps, the setup costs for other systems, e.g. storage area, flue, connection costs, etc., are often disregarded.

Numerous grants are available - from national, regional and local government bodies and from energy suppliers. You can find out more about the grants available to you in your area Opens an internal link in the current windowhere.

Many banks and financial services providers offer special contracting agreements for heating systems in additional to the conventional types of financing. Your bank or financial services provider will be happy to advise you on the most appropriate type of financing for your needs.

Although the initial installation costs may be higher than those for other systems, by using the money you save from the lower heating costs wisely you will turn your overall investment into a useful nest egg. One example might be to invest the money you save in a private pension fund. In this way your heat pump will become a long-term financial asset. Opens an internal link in the current windowMore...
